Welcome to our Breck School Council page. Here are the school pupil leadership team.

The leadership team will add updates informing the school community about activities and actions in support of the wider school network.

November 2022 – Harvest  – Thank you to all our families for being so generous. Streetlife Charity came into school on Wednesday to collect our Harvest donations. They were thrilled.

October 2022 – World Mental Health Day – Our Y6 children pictured here gave up several of their playtimes to complete these mental wellbeing posters depicting what makes them happy. They are currently on display at the entrance to Queensway Surgery in Poulton. The mental health practitioners at the surgery have agreed to delivering a mental wellbeing session to our older children in the New Year.

September 2022 – The Death of Queen Elizabeth II – This is to confirm school will be closed on Monday 19th September 2022. The following website is a source of information to support upset children.

July 2022 – We celebrated our final school council meeting of the year with cake and hot chocolate! Council members were presented with a certificate to thank them for their dedication to school improvement throughout the academic year. They have represented their classes extremely well.

June 2022 – We visited the Civic Centre to watch a flag ceremony to mark the start of Armed Forces week. Afterwards, we had a tour of the Civic Centre including the council chamber, where we got to ask the Mayor of Wyre and our local councillors some questions. Madam Mayor was very impressed by what the school council have achieved so far!

April 2022 – Wildflower meadow – We have planted a wildflower meadow with the help of Mr Hesketh. We hope that the flowers will attract pollinating insects. Isla, Year 3, thinks “the flowers will look very pretty!”.

March 2022 – Pupil Leadership Team – We had a video call with the Pupil Leadership team at Baines. They have given us advice on how to become a prefect, what life is like at high school and ideas on fundraising. Poppy, Year 6, said “It was great to find out more about going to high school from older children.”

February 2022 – Herb Garden – We have planted some herbs to be used in our school meals. Millie, Year 4, says “planting our own vegetables is better for the environment than buying them from the supermarket.” We can’t wait for Mrs Taylor to use our basil in her famous pasta dishes!
